Job Overview:
Leads team members to meet daily production targets while meeting people safety and food safety expectations.
Identifies problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolves immediate issues.
Partners with Maintenance to resolve issues where needed.
Partners with Quality to address issues that are out of specification.
Ensures materials, equipment and human resources are available as needed to maintain production schedules.
Leads team members to identify, manage, and execute the plant's process improvement opportunities.
Supports continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost and customer service.
Responsible for managing and owning various functions of the business and creating an engaged and team-oriented work force in order to improve business results.
Responsibilities:
Primarily work assigned production position.
Supervision of production employees within assigned areas when supervisor is not present.
Specific areas of supervision include:
Assignment of tasks Rotation for safety and breaks Product quality (checks and monitoring) Safe practices Cleanliness of area General discipline, consistent with company policy and guidelines Assist supervisors and trainer with employee training.
Completing all assigned paperwork in a neat, timely and accurate manner (as assigned).
Follow (set an example) and enforce all GMP's, Food and General Safety guidelines.
Keep work area clean and free of clutter and debris by directing assigned employee's Follow all food safety (GMP) and general safety guidelines Complete other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
What we need from you:
High School diploma or GED equivalent.

years' experience in a manufacturing environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to lead, motivate and mentor large teams of hourly associates is required.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Strong analytical/critical thinking.
Strong accountability, consistency and follow-through skills.
Basic math skills.
Knowledge of GMP's and regulatory expectations Working knowledge of plant equipment and safety.
Bilingual is strongly preferred (ENG/SPA).
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, talk or hear and will be working from heights.
The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste/smell; and frequently required to climb and must be able to reach all levels in the bay.
The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and regularly lifts to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires that hearing protection be worn in production areas at all times.
